Air pollution map of grenoble
The first high-resolution Air Pollution Map of Grenoble is now available and published by eLichens.
This map has been produced by integrating various data sources: topographic, real-time traffic and meteorological data of Grenoble; data from eLichens sensors network deployed around the city; as well as data from Atmo Auvergne-Rhônes-Alpes reference stations. Moreover, the ongoing collaboration with Atmo-Auvergne-Rhônes-Alpes has allowed eLichens to improve its stations calibration process.
Using its patented high-resolution models and proprietary Air Quality hardware stations, eLichens was able to produce such high accuracy maps which include 10 meters resolutions, real-time air-quality information and 24 hours forecast for major pollutants such as Particulate Matter (PM2.5 & PM10), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Ozone (O3) and Carbon Monoxide (CO).
How to access our map?
The map can be viewed at map.elichens.com.
After creating an account with your email adress, you will be given a username and a password to access the map.
Concentrations and air quality index for the major pollutants are accessible via eLichens API after getting your api-key. More information about our API.
eLichens goal is to offer valuable air quality information to the public, allowing informed decision making that can affect various aspects of daily life. For example, Air Quality can suddenly change and vary from one location to another, and by monitoring and presenting accurate information, Grenoble citizens can rapidly and simply identify the best path to work in the morning, best time to go for a run, avoid streets that can negatively affect people with respiratory disease, children and elderly.
Air Quality Monitoring is a very important topic in all geographies world-wide. eLichens is working with other cities to provide similar infrastructure and data, with the ultimate goal of helping people, government and companies to make better decisions to improve Air Quality.
